Outback Touring
The Lyell crosses Tasmania's wild west from Hobart to Strahan through ancient rainforest, button-grass plains, glacial lakes and the historic mining town of Queenstown. The descent into Queenstown past the multicoloured bare hills is one of Australia's most unique road experiences.
Coastal Road
The Tasman Highway along the East Coast from Hobart to St Helens delivers white sand beaches, turquoise bays and tiny fishing villages. The road hugs the coast in sections and passes through the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula.
Mountain Pass
A loop from Hobart through the Huon Valley apple country, continuing to the wild South West via Geeveston and Southport. Dense temperate rainforest, river valleys and a real sense of the edge of the world.
Outback Touring
The high plateau route across the centre of Tasmania connecting the Midlands with Deloraine. Passes through open moorland, glacial lakes and central highland wilderness. In winter sections may be affected by ice.
Coastal Road
The northern coast of Tasmania from Devonport to Stanley delivers farmland and ocean views with the dramatic Rocky Cape and Nut formations as highlights. A relaxed, straightforward touring route.
